Google Pixel Watch: Google combines "smarts and helpfulness" with first smartwatch

Tech company Google has released the Google Pixel Watch, the first smartwatch with a sleek round watch face and Fitbit activity tracker.
The Google Pixel Watch is the latest version of the Google Pixel collection of digital devices that includes smartphones, laptops, and tablets.

Consisting of a convex domed glass dial set on a recycled stainless steel case, the smartwatch is available in colors including silver, jet black and matte black.
The watch face can be attached to 20 different straps in a variety of colors and materials such as leather or fabric. It also includes 19 custom interfaces.
“The unique strap attachment mechanism is inspired by the way a camera lens attaches to a camera body,” Google said.

Designed to be informative and to encourage exercise, the Google Pixel Watch features Fitbit’s activity tracker. Fitbit was acquired by Google’s parent company Alphabet in 2021.
“The watch combines the smarts and utility you know and love from Google with Fitbit’s expertise in health and fitness, all in one sleek design,” the tech giant said.

Google Assistant, the company’s AI virtual assistant software, is among the features built into the watch to provide information to users.
Built to be worn day and night, the Google Pixel Watch is water and scratch resistant, according to the tech company.

Although the smartwatch has not been released yet, Google has started accepting pre-orders.

Other smartwatch designs include a Sony strap that users can attach to their own analog watch.

Google recently changed its homepage logo to black to coincide with the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, and in June it was reported that the company was in talks to buy the James R. Thompson Center in Chicago to use as its headquarters in the city.
