But emojis are constantly being updated, and you don’t want to be left behind. Fortunately, there are ways to add new emoji to your Android phone, create your own emoji, and use iOS emoji.

This is how emojis are updated on your Android device:
- Update your Android to the latest version
Every new version of Android adds new emojis. For example, Android 11 introduced 117 new symbols and over 2,000 previously available emojis got a new look with the optional Android emoji update. Keyboard emojis are likely to be updated as well, so keep your Android device up to date.

Not sure if your Android device has received this update? This is what you can do.
In the phone menu, click Settings and go to About phone. On some devices, first touch System, then touch the software version that shows which Android update is running. If you are not using the latest version, continue to the next step.
Go to settings again. Click About Phone to see if an update is available. Then click the update button and click install. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile internet.
Visit any messenger to see if the update was successful. Look for something like the Android version of Ninja or black emoji as you type. Both are relatively new.
Of course, not all Android smartphone manufacturers support software updates, so they may not be available. Fortunately, there are other things you can try.

Create an emoji collage
Google’s own keyboard app, Gboard, has Emoji Kitchen, making it easy to get new emoji on Android. Users can create collages from stickers. Here’s how to use it to create a new emoji:
Open your preferred messaging app, such as Facebook Messenger.
Then click on one of your contacts to start a conversation.
Click on a line of text and start typing.
Then press the emoji button (the button with the emoji) inside the keyboard instead of next to the message input area. Select your favorite emoji to activate the Emoji Kitchen feature.
From here, you’ll see possible emoji combinations at the top of your keyboard.

Another method you can use to get new emojis is to install a third-party Android emoji keyboard. Like the Emoji Keyboard, some of these apps also come with icon dictionaries so you can easily see what the emoji mean.
Furthermore, the app also has a prediction feature that allows you to send stickers and GIFs to social networking sites like Snapchat and Instagram.
Here’s how to install a third-party keyboard on your smartphone.
In the phone menu, tap Google Play. In the search bar above, enter the keyboard app you want.
Then click Install. If the keyboard app is not compatible with your phone, you can try other options.
Wait for the download to complete.

If you want your emoji to reflect your personality and taste, you can create your own emoji. The Google Play Store has many emoji-maker apps that you can install on your Android device. With Memoji you can even become an emoji.
To install the emoji maker on your phone, follow the same steps as to download the third app keyboard. Bitmoji is one of the most popular.
